Overnight, the IRGC announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz via state media. Today, at least two vessels have been fired upon, according to maritime tracking groups. Approximately 20 vessels have turned around, according to the WSJ.

If Iran opened the strait, US should also have lift the Iranian ports blockade. If you expect that Iran will allow passing the tankers through the strait while its own oil is blocked, that's not how things work. Iran was already in the position of blocking it again, so for them it was not difficult to reannounce the closure again. What remains to be seen is that after things are getting tensed again, whether second round of talks actually take place or not. This is big question and situation is telling you that things might go otherwise.

@Rafee_tweets @TreyYingst In my opinion, the US has no intentions in stopping the Iranian people from succeeding, only their dictatorial regime. Get rid of the regime and make it clear the people are in control again, and I bet the blockade vanishes.
