Labour needs to have a serious conversation about how we regain the trust of voters across the country. From Oldham to Lewisham, we’ve seen Labour groups decimated on national policy issues by populists on all sides of the spectrum.

Members, councillors, MSPs and MSs all need to be part of that conversation too. If the party only focuses on what this result means for the Westminster party they we won’t learn anything and in 2027 we will be in an even worse position
