Recap on my experience getting IPO allocated shares for SpaceX and the wild ride today.
It wasn't until 0830 this morning that I finally saw I had been allocated shares of $SPCX via ETrade. I was fortunate enough to be allocated approximately 100 shares.
I watched anxiously all morning at work, waiting for the stock to be actively traded.
Finally, it kicked off. And weeks and months of planning was finally happening. Hell, I even slept like shit the night before over anticipation, which sounds foolish even now as I'm writing it.
All morning I tried to decide if I would flip for a decent profit, or ride it out. I fully expect the value to decline, especially in October as more investors are able to exit their long held positions.
Ultimately, I'm thrilled to have decided to hold onto these shares. As I posted yesterday, I'm investing in SpaceX because I believe in the mission, and believe there is greatness to come.
The shares that I acquired today, I'll hold onto for decades. I hope to one day look back on today and realize that my investment my only made me a small fortune, but also helped me grab a bit of history as an investor in the most consequential company in the history of mankind.
Im excited for the future. I will be waiting about 2-3 months before I start to slowly dollar cost average into the stock, buying a few more shares every month.
Thank you Elon for deciding to take your company public and I hope you make good use of the money I have chosen to entrust in your company.
