For a while, I wondered what it would feel like to be immersed in the world of @DKashtalyan , the creator of @thebeaksart
I kept asking myself;
why the impossibly long necks?
Why the exaggerated beaks?
And why do their eyes feel so aware?
Consequently, I’m reminded of what Picasso once said “Art is a lie that makes us realize the truth”
The more I sat with this character, the more that made sense
There’s something unsettling and beautiful about the stare of @thebeaksart
The anatomy feels surreal, but the emotion behind the eyes feels familiar
While sketching this piece, I stopped trying to draw a creature
I started trying to capture a feeling.
And I think that’s what makes Dima’s work resonate
Beneath the strange forms and distorted features, there’s still something deeply human looking back at you
For normies, @thebeaksart is a collection of 1111 art pieces curated by veteran artist Dima Kashtalyan
Before now, Dima has been active in web2 artistry but The beaks collection will be his first on chain
And you know what they say about genesis collections?
Don’t fade, Fellas
