Sony released the yearly PS3 System Update as expected, to version 4.93. It updates the Blu-Ray keys for movie playback on the console, without any other spotted functional changes. You can continue using your currently installed version on RPCS3, or update, it doesn't matter.

@rpcs3 Why exactly does the PS3 need updates to play bru ray disks? My regular blu ray player hasn't gotten any updates in years and still plays disks fine.

@qazwsxedc165 @rpcs3 licence keys expire. modern bluray players actually update thier keys straight from the disc, the ps3 cant do that and thus needs occasional updates to keep playing bluray disks
