UPDATE: It looks like Paige Ostroushko has deactivated her Instagram account and is trying to scrub everything about herself off of the internet after her actions yesterday. She and her father's entire social media accounts were called "MN ANGRY FATHER" and "MN ANGRY DAUGHTER". The father, Chris Ostroushko, has blocked me on Instagram and it seems they are trying to do damage control after the entire family's violent actions yesterday.

What concerns me most is that this family felt comfortable doing this in broad daylight, on camera, at a public event. That level of entitlement comes from years of being told that political violence against the “right” people is justified. The media built that permission structure.

💯 We saw this in even more extreme form as violent BLM riots in Portland and elsewhere went on with minimal accountability from local police and governance, and implicitly justified by sympathetic media coverage. Not just the media, but local, and sometimes state governments as well have turned a blind eye to progressive authoritarians violating the law. They have all - systematically and intentionally - built this permission structure.
