I have been married for 20+ years. I almost bought into this bullshit in my 20s and came very close to breaking off my engagement with my now husband. I shudder to think where that would have left me today. I am grateful I didn’t make that decision.

I agree. What’s interesting is that I went and got a Master’s degree thinking I would be the provider. I was for a little while, but my husband is a true provider. I don’t have to work if I don’t want to. Which is such a blessing. I work so we have extra money for family vacations lol.
