One of the greatest Canadian athletes was Walter R. Knox, born in Listowel in 1878. Knox was a track and field athlete who had around 400 first-place finishes during his career. He also coached the Canadian team during the 1912 and 1920 Summer Olympics. archives@perthcounty.ca.
