@Programancer is it really that hard for you to say that you're building a Classicvania? give some details. platform, price, release date, etc'. We players are not stupid you know...

@LeeorV Except it's not even close to a classicvania on anything other than the surface, and I'm giving people the agency to figure that out vs your assertation that players are assumed stupid. I could just say "It's more like a Zelda", but the reality is it's just an adventure game.

but the video you included clearly has the jumping, enemies and attack pattern of a classicvania, with some advanced movements added similar to the later classicvanias. it's clear from the sprites and animation that this is intentional, so why hide it and not revel in it? "I'm making a Classicvania with faster movement, moresubweapons and varied levels" (if that's a fair description, if not, fit it to whatever seems reasonably descriptive). But completely dismissing the notion of describing your game as silly is really dismissive of the audience in my opinion.
