the thing about newcombs problem is that everyone gets hung up on super intelligent predictors but in real life people basically just read each others minds

@EigenGender My favorite version of this is you are stuck in the desert, and a person offers to take you out of it as long they believe you will take $1,000 of an ATM and pay them afterwards. Once you leave the desert though they have no way of forcing you to pay them.
