@DropPopNet I have said this for years! It’s not a phobia. I’m not afraid of homosexuality just because I’m straight and don’t like watching 2 men make out. I think the term homophobia is a form of gaslighting
@archivedjc@willj457@DropPopNet Phobia: an extreme or irrational fear of or aversion to something.
Aversion: a strong dislike or disinclination.. u think every person that dislikes something should be considered -phobic? Alot of times the dislike isn't "irrational" and that's the difference. Hope that helps
@SpectorAFK@willj457@DropPopNet the “irrational” doesn’t describe the aversion, it describes the fear. that’s why the or separates the two. if you strongly dislike something it can fall into the phobia umbrella if you go over the top, which most people do when it comes to the lgbtq community
@SpectorAFK@willj457@DropPopNet not liking it not agreeing fine wtv just hit not interested and tune out the news. but when you act on it and actively fight against it like it’s literally making ur blood boil (hyperbole) that people are gay or when something gay is hinted at then you’re homophobic
@SpectorAFK@willj457@DropPopNet yea but like i described if you dislike it then you’re not homophobic. it’s just a fine line that people cross very often, so much so that the line is blurred. if you dislike it you just don’t listen. hate is taking that one step further
