has anybody actually completely learned a new language from scratch using duolingo?? seems too gamified to be effective

@twtforindira I don't find examples that are practical for daily use. Teach me basics of normal convo rather than teaching me how to say "I love to drink water" in that language

@StackAndQueue exactly! seven lessons in and all i know is how to say tea, coffee, soup, water and rice? how is THAT your first lesson choice?
