@SteppingBackOut Didn’t understand the last part there but The timing is : cuts being made in a few days (trade); season starting soon, deadline (extension). They didn’t need to free up $$.

@john_keim I guess i was thinking more along the lines of trying to get closer to that $32/$33mm per year, and that it would be easier to do without having to account for BRob coming off his rookie contract.
I'm not super contract-savvy, so I can take the L if I'm way off :P

@SteppingBackOut 1) the average is a fake average. It’s not the true value. 2) it begins in 2026. Robinson would not be here. They didn’t need to free up space this year. If they really wanted to keep Robinson they would have and still signed McLaurin
