@ScriptDoctorPhD How can a movie from Disney be a loss leader when all of their movies are loss leaders
English

Normally I’d say “That’s insane with a $200M film … and this one will be 3-4x that!” But it’s the only play they’ve got. They better hope for a massive surge in merch sales like they haven’t had since 2018-2019, because Disney will be damn lucky to lose only another $200M on this one. They need move this movie the hell out of December and put it in a dead zone a month or two later. They cant afford to have ANY competition with this. Disney’s fiscal year starts Oct 1st, so December 2026 vs February, Mar, Apr 2027 makes no difference to their annual projections.

@ScriptDoctorPhD What if it doesn't win the audience back? If it fails both as a means for profit AND a loss leader, where does that leave Disney?
English

@ScriptDoctorPhD Even if they’re capable of making something beautiful, brilliant, and creative
(~they’re not.)
Why would anyone re-invest their trust with them when they retro-re-engineer their legacy classics to be seen as pathetic failures through a post-modern feminist lens?
English

@ScriptDoctorPhD It’s a big gamble, Marvel messed up BIG TIME with alienating their male audience. If they truly want to bring back audiences they lost they should start making comic book films instead of what they’re doing now & hire non divisive actors who are obsessed with politics & activism.
English

@ScriptDoctorPhD The audience is gone. The momentum is gone. A massive budget won’t change that. The MCU is dead.
English

@ScriptDoctorPhD Avengers: Endgame was awesome. Every movie after sucked. I hope Avengers:Doomsday will be wheel turn in the right direction.
English

@ScriptDoctorPhD Their last 2 movies have been better than the last 5 years combined but they are not rewatchable.
If Endgame is rewatchable at all it will be a “success” in that matter.
English

@ScriptDoctorPhD Count me as highly skeptical.
In the audience’s eyes: Steve Rogers is Captain America … but not in this movie. RDJ is Tony Stark … but not in this movie.
I don’t think the audience’s reaction to this can be understated. At best, it will leave an unpleasant impression.
English

@ScriptDoctorPhD What’s dumb is they’ve won the audience back at least twice thru later phases: no way home & Deadpool 3. And then gave us shit right after. So even if this is the greatest movie of all time & word of mouth earns 3B doesn’t restore my faith the follow up films will be must see
English

@ScriptDoctorPhD Maybe they should put Steve Rogers in the trailer saying “I’m Captain America. Accept no substitutes.”

@ScriptDoctorPhD It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em
English

@ScriptDoctorPhD 1.5 billion will be profitable for the movie though...
English

@ScriptDoctorPhD Huge gamble but really the only way back!
English

@ScriptDoctorPhD Brother, have you seen the script?
It's horrible. Absolute counterculture!
Destruction...
I don't see them changing what was leaked very much. That kind of writing falls perfectly in line with the social engineering of today's Woke Hollywood.
English

@ScriptDoctorPhD isnt that like a win win. . win fans back and make profit? I still wont go se it
