She's not wrong to have this grievance. If one sees a name they are unfamiliar with, ask the person how it is pronounced. It's simple courtesy. Many will have their names mispronounced or misspelled some times, like as a child when a teacher takes attendance, or when they're older from a coffee shop employee, or a cold call etc. and think it is the same as what Ming-Na Wen is saying. But it's not. Those are infrequent, what she is describing is constant. I know it's constant. I've seen it in Hollywood a lot. When one's name is mispronounced most of the time, it becomes dehumanizing. This isn’t limited to big coastal cities. I’ve seen the same thing with friends in Montana, Iowa, Texas, North Carolina, and Virginia; places where you might not expect it. The issue isn’t geography; it’s whether someone cares enough to try. I have had friends who go by a new name like Alex, Dave, Sara, Tom, John, Emily, and Will, because their colleagues couldn't pronounce the name their parents gave them, and sadly they showed no effort to even try. The rare few in their situation that do, show that they at least care, and I know many of the people reading this would make the same effort as well. You are kind, curious, and want to show respect to others and earn respect from others. Know that those that try, are not the ones Ming-Na Wen is criticizing, it's the ones that couldn't be bothered. The ones that would deliberately call you by the wrong name as well. They'd either do it out of ignorance, malice, or because they don't care about anyone or anything that doesn't make their life instantly better, especially in a town like Hollywood. In a world where so many people willingly change their names and entire identities just to be accepted by strangers, it’s foolish to criticize anyone who simply wants to be called by the name their loving parents gave them.

A message to @YouTubeCreators @TeamYouTube @nealmohan @reneritchie and every YouTuber that suffers from "Inauthentic content". I'm a French comedian and YouTuber with over 12 years on the platform. I run 2 YouTube channels (714K and 350K subs) with more than 400 million views on long-form videos. I create comedy podcasts and gaming content, and I do everything myself: filming, editing, and appearing on camera. Overnight, both channels were demonetized. I made 2 appeal videos — zero views. Every appeal was rejected with the exact same copy-paste automated message. No human support from YouTube. After 12 years and building two big communities, this treatment is unacceptable. This broken system is destroying the lives (literally!) and careers of thousands of genuine, original creators. Please comment, share, and tag YouTube. This needs to stop. Congrats to @EternalMystYT @mansterzs @AydinPaladin and @siniviere for winning your battles. And a big thank you to @Nina7Infinity @verbalriotshow @thevivafrei @Kneon @MeganFoxWriter @hunleyeric @bear_ing @DisaffectedPod @Thatumbrellaguy @GoodLionTV for your support to our community and for helping creators. #youtube #inauthentic #AI

We're delving into a few more comic book movies this week on Friday Night Frights and veering slightly away from horror. Now, I know we *should* be covering Dredd, but no... We're going with Judge Dredd instead. Why? Why would we do this? ... have you never seen our show?🤣

Remembering director Richard Donner, born today in 1930. Here's a wonderful video of other all-time greats singing his praises - watch till the end for Gene Hackman's legendary yarn! "I have a bust of Abraham Lincoln in my office. Not because of the greatness he did for our country, but because whenever I look at it, I have to remember an actor killed him."
