They say Genshin is so dated, but always forget that artistic direction is very important, which realism completely eliminates. I'm so glad they never changed their artstyle.

@Jiyantimely I've been saying this for a while. If you look at Rover's expressions in 3.2, he has baggy eyes. Overall, an exhausted/fatigued look.
I love details like that.

3.2 WUWA Story quest was supposed to parallel Aemeath and Rover if they were present

my friend, who plays wuwa, said its hard to optimize, file wise and performance wise, since its made by ue5 and is that really true?
but yeah, i can believe that considering unity was hard for devs to optimize as well

They don't even have a good art direction since the textures are pixelated and gross.
No lip-sync. The presentation is still barebones despite improving a couple of a baby steps in NodKrai.
But why reinvest into the game? The fans will pay anyways. Big corpo 🧠

I have played video games in my life, and Genshin is doing the right thing by not pursuing realism in their artstyle.
Realism has its places in genres like simulators, but not in Genshin. Other cel-shaded games put realism in their style but fall short in terms of presentation.

im so glad this was said. i see so many genshin haters spit on the game for "trash visuals" simply because it doesn't pursue ultra realism like most games, but its warm and bright atmosphere is what makes genshin so unique & beautiful imo!!
