@SamPrentice Do you know what the K2 will be priced at without the CFS?
English

Hey everyone,
Please take some time to digest this message as I go some way in explaining things here.
As I'm sure you know, I won't waste your time insulting your intelligence. The pre-order launch was met with some unfortunate limitations, which are entirely on Creality. In my view, these issues should have been expected, and measures should have been in place to address them. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, and here we are.
Like almost all of you, I was left disappointed, frustrated, and ultimately pi$$ed off . While it could have been handled better, it simply wasn't. So, today we get another shot at a discounted 700 printers—200 at 50% off and 500 at 40% off, with another unknown outcome.
This is a marketing promotion called a “loss leader”. The value you are paying will most likely just cover material costs, and shipping. You often see this kind of thing with Kickstarter campaigns where the "early bird discount" is heavily discounted to generate hype. Creality didn’t want to do a kickstarter for this product so instead has managed it this way.
When I first got into 3D printing, I almost left the hobby due to a poorly performing printer. My second printer was a Creality product, which made me stay. Years later, after stumbling into content creation, I have been critical of several companies, including Creality in the past. However, you quickly learn that holding a grudge does nothing but create obstacles for yourself, the manufacturer, and your audience. Letting go of things is a skill which is at times difficult. The relationship between Creality and I is pretty unique they have unlocked some elements in my workflow that I felt would never happen, for example hosting events like sharefest and their 10th anniversary which several more in the pipeline which I enjoy immensely.
I've had hundreds of messages from people in the community expressing themselves in various ways, and I share your frustration! So much so that I had to put down my phone and take an evening off from this problem.
To finish off here, I was fortunate enough to be in China when the K2 dropped. I have been impressed by its specs, look and performance, but I think there could have been more options on the CFS. I’ve already voiced that in one of my Q&A videos. That being said, I have not had the K2 in my hands to perform any significant long-term testing, but have no reason to think its not going to perform well. I've seen several comments about "content creators getting it first," which is a whole different debate. NO one has this printer yet; they have not been built. But Creality is opening up this first batch of what I believe to be 2,700 K2 Plus printers, and trust me, I have tried EVERYTHING to get one early, but it’s not happening.
Because of my involvement with the K2 last month, they asked me to take part in several promotions. Apart from the live stream, which I wish had gone better, it has been great. They also gave me links to share with the community which enables traceability. Yesterday, the link was clicked 23,360 times with an apparent product allocation that I have been assigned. If you use the link or not, it's not my priority and is entirely your choice: tinyurl.com/SPK2PLUS. If nothing else this has shown that there is significant demand for this product, and while I agree that 200 units (now 400) is clearly a low number, no business would be able to sustain no profit inside of what they are selling. I feel for the team and what you don’t often get to experience at distance here is how nice people are inside of this business.
I wish you luck in your pursuit of the K2 Plus and like you I will be trying to buy one. The sale returns for another 200 at 50% off at 2PM GMT which is the same time as yesterday then at 20 past the next 500 at 40% drops.. again I have no idea if things will improve, but if you want one at a discounted promotional price try your luck.
Sam

@RichRap3D @Polymaker_3D I’ll have them and will return some with Amiga Beige:) I did get this colour matched some time ago, but getting the premises constructed took longer than planned!

We recycle ♻️ lots of empty #3Dprinting cardboard filament spools each week. But I do wish there was some way to directly reuse these in the UK, anyone need hundreds of very high quality @Polymaker_3D cardboard spools? We do however directly reuse every single cardboard box 📦

Who’s watching #PrehistoricPlanet2 👀
It’s awesome to see some of the dinos we #3DPrinted back in 2021 come to life through the magic of CGI! Here’s the Beelzebefo and it’s chroma key blue scale model 🐸

English

@basedbystar Hey, thanks for the feedback😁 before the premises move started we had a gold in development, so this will be one of the first colours released once everything is organised again! Will add silver to the list🙌🏼
English

@andyroo770 Awesome stuff, quite a comprehensive list, some of those we are actually experimenting with. Not sure about the viability of a few, but on the whole pretty good response. Great question to ask ChatGPT though! It’s an impressive AI project
English

@3DTomorrow I asked chatGPT (A.I.) for potential additives to improve the material properties of PLA. Here is the list:
Graphene
Carbon nanotubes
Boron nitride
Clay
Silica
Cellulose
Lignin
Chitin
Hemp fiber
Pectin
Polyethylene glycol (PEG)
Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA)
Nylon

@Mobile_Dom @3DTomorrow @leesmithswrkshp @UK3DQF BioPro survived its summer test at nearly 40 degrees and now sub zero testing in Ashbourne

English

@Mobile_Dom @leesmithswrkshp @UK3DQF Not at present, but once we’ve finished setting up the new space will give you a shout🙌🏼
English

@3DTomorrow @leesmithswrkshp @UK3DQF do you sell BioPro (or be wiling to send over a larger spool of it) in larger spools? would be a helluva test for this printer
English

hey @UK3DQF or @3DTomorrow do either of you do larger spools? i want to reprint this buddha in stone filament and make it a biy heftier to not be blown over in the garden, and this version with 2.5% infill is about 800g on its own

English

@Mobile_Dom @leesmithswrkshp @UK3DQF Unlikely in our climate if you opt for a lightish colour. Cement would also help support the shape, whereas a loose fill could potentially add sideways pressure. Alternatively could opt for a more outside worthy material like BioPro, but then you’re more colour restricted!
English

@Mobile_Dom @leesmithswrkshp @UK3DQF Or you could scallop out the base and fill with cement!? That would be really heavy then😁
English

@leesmithswrkshp @UK3DQF @3DTomorrow i could but unless i fill it to the brim it could rattle make noise.
i might go pick up some play sand or something though and try that if icant find large spools
English

@3DTomorrow To give you an idea of the scale of the thing, it has a 3/4inch dowel to reinforce the handle
Definitely a one-off 🤣

This full size Thor's hammer took a week to print on the Prusa Mini and used over 3kg of filament.
Printed, in part, with @3DTomorrow aged bronze PLA
It has only just been fully assembled and the new owner loves it 😊

@BenMildenhall #DreamFusion3D looks amazing. Would you be willing to share some example meshes? I would love to print them and talk about your research on a YouTube video.
