57 seconds. This whole incident is tragic, but the sole reason it wasn’t worse was because APD officers responded and were on scene in seconds. Patrol officers and CAST (team of APD officers and ATCEMS paramedics together) moved with incredible speed to stop the killing. Our hearts go out to all those affected by this both victims and family. The utterly amazing statistic in this all is that when seconds count - officers ran towards the gunfire and were there in 57seconds. That’s a heroic speed.

This morning, the 3PP team joined @ctx_commission , local leaders and first responders at Riverbend Church for the Blessing of the Badges––a ceremony paying tribute to the brave men and women who sacrifice their lives daily to keep our communities safe.  During the ceremony, we heard remarks from Mayor Kirk Watson, local faith leaders, CTPSC Board President Pam Madere, and Ashley Copeland, CTPSC chief operating officer.  Pam Madere presented The Blessing in Action Award to ATCEMS Captain Amber Price, whose son accepted on her behalf, in recognition of her public safety leadership and unwavering acts of service.  #centraltexasfirstresponders #publicaffairs #publicrelations

Today, I Live Here I Give here @ILH_IGH, in partnership with the city of Austin and local nonprofits, held a press conference to announce Amplify Home — a new, community wide initiative designed to raise awareness and funds for the growing number of unhoused children and families in the Austin area. Mayor @KirkPWatson and key community leaders spoke on the need for urgent action. Within AISD alone, more than 2,500 students-part of over 1,100 families-are living in cars, motels, or temporarily doubling up with relatives. 3PP was honored to help coordinate the press conference and media to bring awareness to such an important cause. Today, on World Homeless Day, we joined @LifeWorksAustin , Mayor Kirk Watson, local leaders and development partners for the groundbreaking ceremony of The Works Ill at Tillery-a 120-unit supportive housing community for youth exiting homelessness, including youth aging out of foster care and parenting youth. This facility will help those exiting foster care build stable, hopeful futures. This groundbreaking was a powerful reminder of the importance of creating pathways to affordable housing and opportunity for the vulnerable. We kicked things off in Chicago on Monday and Tuesday, where our VP of public relations, Laura Bowman, presented a year-to-date PR recap for our client, @CathExtension, during their quarterly All Staff Meeting. Yesterday, we attended the Hutto Chamber Luncheon to support our client and guest speaker, Michele Glaze, Head of Communications & Community Affairs for @SamsungAustin. We wrapped up the day at Samsung Austin Semiconductor's Friend-Chip event in Manor, celebrating their amazing community partners. The 3PP public affairs team just returned from an eventful few days in Vancouver for the 2025 InterCity Visit with @AustinChamber! These trips provide Chamber members with exposure to best practices and lessons learned in other communities on issues that also affect Central Texas. Members gained insight on intergovernmental planning, supportive policy agreements, and innovative incentives that encourage efficient land use and dense housing across a region. They also explored creative public/private partnerships and how these efforts can strengthen the social fabric of a community, and discussed the importance of efficient and reliable public transit. #ATXIntercity

This morning, @ctx_commission (CTPSC) held a joint press conference with @austinfiredept and @AustinEMSAssoc at Austin City Hall to announce the funding for ballistic vests for each of their departments. This is about more than just equipment—the unfortunate reality is that firefighters and EMS personnel are facing increasing threats from gun violence and are in need of better protection. CTPSC recognized the urgency of this need and took the lead in coordinating funding for the vests. During the press conference, Austin Fire and EMS extended their gratitude to CTPSC for its efforts.
