Attending capacity building on Strategic Communication Planning for the #SHARP Project. We’re strengthening our ability to harmonise messaging, develop strategic narratives, and advocate effectively on the triple threat of FGM, early marriage, and teenage pregnancy in Isiolo.

ALPC’s work is grounded in evidence. Our past research partnership with UBC-ORICE on climate change and women’s health in Northern Kenya now informs our current collaboration with @akuihd on gender mainstreaming in Early Childhood Development—bridging climate resilience & care.

Strengthening climate resilience starts with women & children. ALPC’s work draws on research like ALPC-UBC-ORICE’s on climate impacts to women’s health in Northern Kenya, and now we’re integrating gender-responsive ECD to support caregivers in changing environments.

At AKU-IHD training, we’re exploring how Early Childhood Development (ECD) strengthens human capital in pastoralist communities—bridging traditional and modern caregiving. Introducing daycare models is critical as climate change increases caregiving burdens in vulnerable settings

Hon. Tubi Mohamed Tubi, the designated Member of Parliament candidate for Isiolo South Constituency, has today been successfully cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) ahead of the forthcoming by-election scheduled for February. The exercise was conducted at Garbatulla High School in Garbatulla Town. Hon. Tubi will be contesting on the United Democratic Alliance (@UDAKenya) ticket. As he carries forward and builds upon his late father’s distinguished legacy of service and leadership, his candidature represents continuity, commitment, and a renewed dedication to the development and unity of Isiolo South Constituency. I therefore call upon the great people of Isiolo South to rise in unity, turn out in large numbers, and decisively support Hon. Tubi Mohamed Tubi at the ballot as we collectively work towards sustained progress and inclusive development for our constituency. @WilliamsRuto @_KithureKindiki @HassanOmarH

Today, we conducted a targeted sensitization session with KMTC students in Isiolo County, focusing on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) and Gender-Based Violence (#GBV ) in all its forms. The sensitization focused on the comprehensiveness of the WHO SRHR care package to ensure that these students as the future health care workers are well versed in #SRHR provision including youth friendly services. Strengthening their understanding and attitudes is essential in ensuring that adolescents and young people can access quality SRH services without stigma, bias or negative experiences at the facility level. #HealthyAdolescents #SHARP4ASRH

Access to Medicines Platform(MeTA Kenya)
The Sexual Offences Act of 2006 provides clear protections against abuse, coercion, and exploitation — and these protections extend into our digital spaces. Forms of Technology-Facilitated GBV such as online harassment, non-consensual image sharing, threats, and digital stalking can be interpreted within the Act’s provisions because harm does not change simply because it happens through a screen. Recognizing TFGBV as a punishable offense is key to ensuring survivors have pathways to justice and safety online. #EndVAWG #VoicesAgainstViolence #SafeDigitalSpaces

The burden of HIV among adolescent girls and young women remains alarmingly high. In 2024, they accounted for the majority of new infections in the 10–24 age group, highlighting deep vulnerabilities that cannot be ignored. There is critical need for: 1⃣Accessible, youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services 2⃣Comprehensive, age-appropriate sexuality education 3⃣Targeted and scalable HIV prevention efforts, including PrEP, testing, counselling, and treatment support Protecting the health and rights of young people, especially girls must remain at the center of Kenya’s HIV response. Their wellbeing today shapes the strength of our communities tomorrow. #16DaysOfActivism2025 #WorldAIDSDay2025 #SHARP4ASRH #HealthyAdolescents
