An Unexpected Introspection The chameleon inside me — the one trained to adapt, to please, to survive — has never felt so threatened. I came to @ArtBasel and @artmetaofficial for the talks, the reunions, the networking, the art. I wasn’t prepared for the confrontation with myself. My life has long been shaped by fear, by expectations, by labels placed on my body and my voice. But art cracked the shell. Web3 burned the mask. In its place: self-acceptance, defiance, a stubborn hope for something more inclusive — more real. After four years in this space, over ten events, I’ve seen the fractures — the dramas, the disappointments, the performative façades. And yet I stay. Call me stupid, call me idealist, but I believe in what we are building. I believe in the authenticity: how strangers from opposite corners of the world speak like lifelong friends — not small talk, but soul talk. I believe in the resilience: how we keep showing up, even when the stage shrinks and the lights dim. I believe in the passion: even when our art is sidelined, misunderstood, or misrepresented, we persist. I believe in the humanity: we’re not building for egos, we’re rebuilding for next generations. This is bigger than me. Bigger than us. It has never been clearer for me — I don’t need to adapt to belong. I can face the mirror, fully — there is nothing to change. In this space, we are still inventing the rules. And mine are written on skin and truth. 1/5
