Everyone's racing to build agent payments. The harder problem is the one getting the least attention: governance. At @proofoftalk inside the Louvre in Paris, our Co-Founder & CEO @ChiZhangData made the case alongside leaders from @billions_ntwk, @paritytech, and @SuremarkDigital, moderated by @animocabrands. In this clip, Chi breaks down why control, not payment, is the real bottleneck: ▷ Everyone claims they do agent payments now, and it's not just Web3. Every Web2 fintech with a card says an agent card is coming. The real blocker for adoption is governance: how do you keep control over the agent? ▷ A horror story: the head of agent safety at Meta's superintelligence lab had all his emails deleted by a Open Claw bot he deployed on his own laptop. The failure mode is always losing control. ▷ Hand an agent an API key with no time-based window or session-based limit, and you've lost the thread. Rotating keys monthly just breaks workflows. The answer is governance built in: scoped, revocable, with a kill switch. This is the layer Kite builds: verifiable identity and control around every agent action, through Agent Passport. 🪁

Heslin Kim's @HeslinKim job is to make Ethereum and Canton speak the same institutional language. At Proof of Talk this June, he found a place where they already do. The Co-Founder of @ZenithFdn builds the EVM execution layer for Canton, with Zenith holding a Super Validator slot alongside JPMorgan, HSBC, Visa, and DTCC. It's not every day you get to interview the first person Satoshi emailed about Bitcoin in 2008. Needless to say I was very excited to sit down with @adam3us. In a cycle dominated by news about "institutions" Adam is a dyed-in-the-wool crypto-anarchist, a living breathing embodiment of the ideology that - as far as we know - drove the creation of this technology. How he resolves the seeming disparity between traditional finance entering stage left, and crypto-anarchist politics stage right, is unique and interesting. The synthesis is a world where Bitcoin changes the shape of existing institutions in its image, rather than the other way around. Adam is the perfect guest to ask about the status of the "build on Bitcoin" movement with its incredible promise but seemingly flagging adoption numbers, the role of public companies like Strategy, and the future of cryptography in a world of quantum (where he thinks the threat is overblown) and AI. His are no generic answers. The episode is deeply opinionated; there's a lot with which to agree or disagree.
