Alfred Steven's dramatic 'Steamboats at Sea,' (1882) was painted off the Normandy coast at Honfleur, where he spent occasional summers. It was a work appreciated by Whistler who offered to purchase it at way beyond the price Stevens was asking for it, but was refused.

Reform say their performative walkout is because Starmer didn't answer Farage's usual question about boats. The reality is that this followed PMQs - Report from the Independent Review into Countering Foreign Financial Influence and Interference in UK Politics

@Tush27J @MFIJake All these stunts are so Reform look “ different” to their gullible supporters, who believe that Reform are challenging the “ establishment”.

Man who never answers questions regarding his appalling conduct leads a walkout at PMQs. Nigel Farage, Mr No accountability for: The Clacton House fiasco. 17 violations of the MPs code of conduct. Brexit. The man is a 5 star snowflake. #PMQs #Snowflake

I'm hearing the BBC is struggling to find anyone from Reform prepared to appear on #BBCQT from Clacton tomorrow.

After #PMQs Tory MP Sir Edward Leigh MP raised a Point of Order on Keir Starmer dodging EVERY question EVERY week. The Speaker says that he cannot do anything about it. It has become utterly points to watch. I don’t blame the Reform MPs for walking out. It’s so pointless now.

Labour just voted to block North Sea drilling during an energy crisis. Turning down more domestic supply and £25 BILLION in extra tax revenue. That means more taxes on ordinary people instead. Economically illiterate doesn't even begin to cover it.

Farage is very wealthy. Amount unknown but made £1 million for outside interests one of the highest earning MPs. Lowe is worth approx £30 million. Tice is a multimillionaire. Men of the ppl? If you believe that are you are deluded, and need serious help. They want power and money

“But was that just a stunt for attention” challenges Chopper as he airs Tice 5 mins after he walked out of PMQs. On the plus side, it was the first time Lee Anderson followed the call for one out, all out.

Trump: "[Iran] gave us a present, and the present arrived today. It was a very big present, worth a tremendous amount of money, and I'm not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize" Is it a giant wooden horse?

@dominik_spencer @LBC @CliffordPotte12 In the past people had no idea of how bad smoking and drinking alcohol were for their health,. Most people don’t vape or smoke ( around 20% do), Drinking alcohol has declined to it’s lowest ever use since records began in 1990. Farages populist outbursts are backward looking.

@ARTHISTORYMe @LBC @CliffordPotte12 I mean since when was smoking and drinking out of touch. Most people do either or both or vape instead of smoke. I mean they were famously seen as relief for the traditional working class throughout history.

@ahistoryinart @amandazryan Realist detail can sometimes deaden a painting. Not with Spencer though, his work is alive with atmosphere and mystery. It often allows the viewer to create a narrative.

In Stanley Spencer's 'Cottage at St Ives,' (1937) the scene has an abundance of circumstantial and realistic detail. Its quality is drawn from his intense absorption, his unerring control of space, and his ability to depict every detail before him almost without discrimination.
