Every season we hype games up for no reason, yesterday was a game against Bournemouth in the Premier League, nothing more, nothing less. Get the 3 points, keep it moving.

@gunnerpunner With the way we start games it would of been easier for Eze to perform vs having to come on a try and change a game, that’s more taxing for a player coming back from injury.

(Leaving aside the fact that ‘time spent’ doesn’t always mean ‘time wasted.’ Throw ins for example, tend to take a long time cos they happen in small spaces when everyone is tightly marked. The way data is presented here suggests anything more than 0.01 seconds is ‘time wasted.’

Good example of poor use of data in pursuit of narrative. Arsenal had 10 corners and Bournemouth had 1. So yes, Arsenal probably spent more time taking corners than Bournemouth but they averaged less time per corner (when of strictly speaking one corner is too small a sample size to come to any sort of conclusion really).

Lots of time-wasting in Arsenal v Bournemouth. Much of it completely unnecessary. Arsenal (L), Bournemouth (R), Arteta was tapping his watch towards the referee before FT; he might have been better served telling his players to get the ball rolling.

It is now very obvious that Carlos Cuesta leaving Arsenal has massively affected our attacking play.
He was never really replaced. Heinze is not an attacking coach.

Without Odegaard and with the quality of Bournemouth’s press, we just weren’t in a position to keep doing it, goal was coming and the signs weren’t read.

Struggled with the four man press again much like the Carabao Cup Final. Frustrating that the warning signs weren’t heeded in the build up to their second goal and we continued to play short even though it was consistently getting us into trouble.
