Are they good for developing strength and size compared to basic barbell movements? absolutely not

@TylerHickman97 @harrywilfred__ @COUNTBUX @IfeSobog nowhere have I said calisthenics, plyometrics, or <insert excercise here> are a waste of time, or worse than nothing. Notice how this entire thread is in reply to a guy who is resistance training, in a gym with better equipment than dumbells.

A good rule of thumb is if you can lift the weight with your hands, it's most likely not heavy enough to train your legs.

@COUNTBUX @IfeSobog Simply not true. You won't find a single person with 25" quads that don't have leg strength far beyond the normal person. Strength of a muscle is directly related to the cross sectional area of said muscle.

He played in 4 games the year Watt won his 2nd. He played in 9 the year he won his final, with 4.5 sacks

@anactualwalnut If you feel like you're getting enough quality sets in per week for the muscle groups you want to prioritize growing then I wouldn't particularly worry about it.

@anactualwalnut Of all the various factors that influence strength and hypertrophy like volume, effort, nutrition, programming, and recovery the split is probably the least important variable and obsessing over it is getting lost in the weeds.

I keep seeing people posting about having a dedicated arm day instead of hitting biceps after back and triceps after shoulders because they’re too fatigued. I’ve been operating on back/bicep & shoulder/tricep days for years… should I switch up the routine? It’s worked for me thus far but am I actually missing out on gains? I consider myself an advanced lifter and I understand lifting, I don’t really need input on that front, but I’m weary to change my entire split atp unless it’s meaningful

@uncult_swine You used this to imply that these bands didnt get in because of a restriction of freedom in speech. That is not the case. Getting a visa is a very difficult process in the US and it has nothing to do with freedom of speech.

@AddisonC58 That term was used for the UK, not the USA. There's been two stories to the visas, some bands claiming one, another claiming it was the promoters fault. My point was that governments across the world do this sort of thing and it's wrong. It's not a game of free speech top trumps.

I suppose before we all get too excited about the UK being a free speech hating hell hole for looking at cancelling Kanye West's appearance here (which as somebody who hates cancel culture I obviously oppose), we should probably remember what happened to Metal Threat last year...

@Kingraven06 @CandlestickJas Watt was a DE in a 3-4 and frequently played in a similar alignment to AD. Especially in his first DPOY I know for fact that he played the majority of his snaps as a 3/5 technique

Compare their 3 DPOY seasons and you'll see just how lopsided this argument is.

@MileHighThunder @MileHighReport Engram is a JAG. He can't play as an actual TE and block and is essentially an oversized WR. His receiving ability is that of a JAG when you compare him to actual WRs. Signing Waddle means even less play time for Engram because he isn't going to see the field in 3 WR sets

@LisaJMillerCO @minakimes Not happening. Engram's usage is low because you can't play him in 11 personnel. That won't change with Webb or Payton calling plays. And with trading for Waddle, the Broncos are probably going to run even more 11P - and they already did last year

Absolutely love it. Fits perfectly inside/outside with Sutton as the X, YAC potential on the short stuff Nix likes, great feel for zone coverage--something Denver's offense has struggled against, comparatively.
