@TheINTJ @ochocinco One storm early in June, and that's it. 70s and sunny the rest of the way, like always (You can see Belgium got some bad luck with their match on the hottest day of the year)

@joelsmith The Rams were quite dominant in the middle part of the season, but fell off massively week 13 onward The only team they beat by more than 1 score was AZ (twice), and lost 4 of those last 9 games (including playoffs)

Can we talk about the soccer sacrilege of squeezing American-style ad breaks into the beautiful game this World Cup under the pretense of “hydration breaks”? I’m watching Norway–Iraq in perfect soccer conditions at Gillette Stadium and, out of nowhere: ad breaks. At least the revenue streams are hydrated.

@mbmedina2001 @ASovij Wait what? I've lived here 25 years and never seen a rainy or gloomy June... Maybe you saw a typo of "January", because January is indeed like that

@ASovij Seattle is typically rainy in June hence the locals say Junuary~rainy and gloomy😆but the past several years have been very dry and warmer. in the minority but I’d rather it be Junuary☔️

+13ºC today. Heavy rain is drumming against the window panes. The weather forecast promises better for the Midsummer weekend. For breakfast: sourdough rye bread with ice lettuce, Brie, blueberries, kiwi and smoked lamb, avocado, pansies and orange, honeydew melon, grapes, coffee.

@TimmyB1957 @matt75940176 @nsemeke33 If you watched the Spain game you could see they retracted the sections quite far, but they've done other arrangements. Here you can see them staggered with the front rows folding sideways and scooted backward, underneath the existing front row

@TimmyB1957 @matt75940176 @nsemeke33 Those corner seats are motorized and built to be retractable for this exact reason. In the pic, the field is too narrow but they can easily yoink the seats back Btw an easy way to judge field width is to know that the penalty box is 44yds wide and look at the 10yd corner marks

@matt75940176 @nsemeke33 @TimmyB1957 My point is simply — the stadium needs to be built with plans for a full width field. Maybe those front rows are removable, probably they aren't For a friendly, they can do whatever the sides agree to, but World Cup is stricter

@Ajas95 @nsemeke33 @TimmyB1957 Real Madrid and Manchester did just fine with it. All I hear from salty angry Euros about their stands is that their stadiums are better than our huge stadiums cause they are right near the pitch. But fine if you had to take a few seats out you could - still would be massive

I saw a tweet that the US can host all the World Cup matches in different stadiums without using the same stadium twice. How many stadiums do they have in total to be able to pull that off?

@matt75940176 @nsemeke33 @TimmyB1957 This picture highlights the real problem — width. Football fields are 53.3 yards wide, but FIFA mandates 74 yards minimum for World Cup The easy way to tell is look at the distance from the edge of the box to the sideline— it needs to be 15 yards minimum

@NoRagretsCredo1 @Rheamund_ You said "those trees" like you were talking about the photo — but you're just complaining about some other trees I know the area you're talking about, I've walked my dog there many times. You're highlighting an enormous area, and there's probably 12 tents in the whole thing
