Lots of unconfirmed reports circulating of a potential ongoing rescue operation in Iran for the downed weapons system officer from the F-15 that was brought down yesterday. Situation is still fluid and nothing has been confirmed.

The Joint Staff 🇺🇸@thejointstaff·
On behalf of the Joint Force and the Joint Chiefs, we extend our deepest gratitude to Chief of Staff of the Army, General Randy George, for his decades of steadfast service to our nation. Since 1988, General George and his family have consistently answered the nation’s call with honor and dedication. We are profoundly thankful to General George and his wife, Patty, for their many years of sacrifice and devotion to those who serve. As they graduate from this distinguished chapter of service and look toward the future, we wish them both continued happiness and success in all that lies ahead.

Army official tells me this email, sent yesterday to senior Army civilian and military leadership, is legit. In his parting message, George says: “Our Soldiers are truly the best in the world – they deserve tough training and courageous leaders of character. I have no doubt you will all continue to lead with courage, character, and grit.”
/r/Army@rArmyReddit

Email going around, reported to be from outgoing CSA Randy George. Subject: Thank you Army leaders: I had the chance to speak with a few of you yesterday and wanted to follow up with a broader note of thanks to all of you for your support and exceptional teamwork while I served as the CSA. As my time in the Army ends, I reflect on the immeasurable pride being part of the Army team has been for me these past 38 years. I enlisted in the Army right out of high school and always made the decision to "stay another tour" because of the selfless people I was blessed to serve alongside. It has been the greatest privilege to serve beside you and lead Soldiers in support of our country. I know you'll all continue to stay laser-focused on the mission, continue innovating, and relentlessly cut through the bureaucracy to get our warfighters what they need to win on the modern battlefield. Our Soldiers are truly the best in the world – they deserve tough training and courageous leaders of character. I have no doubt you will all continue to lead with courage, character, and grit. Patty sends her gratitude as well - she's always been inspired by the strength of our Army families! "This We'll Defend" VR, Randy

Lock in, we’re Moonbound. Artemis II astronauts are more than halfway to their destination, and preparations for lunar flyby are underway. During their trip around the far side of the Moon, they will capture imagery to share with scientists (and you, too!).

Given the huge role they are playing in the rescue of the F-15E WSO in Iran, reupping a story I did about the hell PJs go through sometimes to live up to their creed: "These things we do, that others may live." Mad respect for this community. tampabay.com/news/military/…

Combat Search and Rescue is perilous by definition no matter the situation. Executing a recovery deep within Iranian airspace in broad daylight is an entirely different level of risk. With assets operating low and slow, taking fire was a certainty. Regardless, CSAR remains a non-negotiable moral obligation and a sacred promise to every airman. "These things we do that others may live".

ZELENSKYY to BBC: We went through difficult relations with Iran. We did nothing to them. They shot down our plane, killed our passengers and crew, didn’t admit it, and didn’t let experts in. Then the full-scale war started. They handed Shahed drones to Russians to kill our civilians. I asked them to stop. They promised there would be only one batch. They lied and kept supplying weapons. That’s why I consider them accomplices of Russia.
