When a gunman opened fire near the Washington Monument Monday, Mississippi National Guardsmen ran toward danger. They backed up law enforcement, helped secure the scene, and made sure an injured civilian was treated. Our nation is grateful for these heroes. These are Mississippi's finest, and they make our state proud.

Thrilled to see the Navy’s FF(X) frigate program starting fast. FF(X) is a highly producible design with little risk. We’ll be able to build them very quickly. Containerized weapons will allow us to bring new munitions and payloads to bear much faster. As long as we don’t let gold-plated requirements stay in, we will look back on this program as a huge success in five years.

I am grateful Congress had the chance to hear from His Majesty King Charles III. Through thick and thin, the United States and the United Kingdom have maintained our indispensable bond. We must continue to do so. As the King said, that begins with security. Together, we are investing more in defense, partnering on the AUKUS submarines, and standing alongside our NATO allies to deter the Axis of Aggressors.

The time is over for negotiations with Iran's regime. The radical successors of Khamenei can never be trusted to keep any promise or agreement. Our Commander-in-Chief should direct his skilled military leaders to finish destroying Iran’s conventional military capabilities and eliminating any last remnants of their nuclear program. This is the only way to ensure lasting stability in the region.

This week, I opposed the Democrat-led resolution to limit the president’s military options in Iran. Passing such a resolution now and curtailing the president’s military authority while so many of our service members remain engaged in the region would be dangerous. It would tie the commander-in-chief’s hands even as he works to eliminate the threat from Iran.

I appreciate President Trump’s statement on Anthropic following @SusieWiles' meeting with the company about their new model, Claude Mythos.
Anthropic has made this model available to the U.S. government ahead of public release. The President is absolutely right. AI is evolving too fast and is too important for us not to work together.
