It took Pep 5 seasons to reach his first UCL semis with City after inheriting a super squad and infinite budget. Pep then reached 3 semis in a row and got 1 title. It took Arteta 5 seasons to reach his first UCL semis while having to rebuild a squad with limited budget. He is now on his second semis in a row.

Date cancelled 💔 We both agreed to go on a date today by 6pm. We spoke in the morning and afternoon. 30 minutes to date time, She texted that the cloth she wanted to wear, the zip just got spoiled and she is frustrated about it. I suggested she change to another dress, look for another dress on her wardrobe. After like 10 minutes, she texted me and asked "if I can send her some money to buy a new dress at the boutique". I still never reply💔

Today, during the presentation of the Secretariat Report of our great party, the African Democratic Congress (ADC), at the 8th National Convention which held in Abuja, I reiterated that the party is the only hope for the Nigerian masses. The ruling party never had a vision; its Renewed Hope agenda was a scam! We are here because the ADC is on a rescue mission to pry the country from the strangulating grasp of the ruling party. The APC is a party which has foisted on the country an electoral law that states that forgery and making false claims in electoral documents is no longer a punishable electoral offence. In other words, the ruling party is decriminalizing criminality. We proclaim our existence because our country is worth all necessary sacrifices. We cannot allow kakistocracy in Nigeria. The government’s claim that the recent reduction in the exchange rate shows its mastery of economics is false. In truth, the exchange rate, which was about N700 to the dollar when this government assumed office in 2023, is now about N1,400. This amounts to a 100 percent devaluation. In an import-dependent economy, this is devastating. Before this administration, the cost of a litre of fuel was between N185 and N238, depending on which part of the country you were in; now it is about N1,400 per litre and still rising. The cost of transportation is now so prohibitive that it has become unrealistic for some workers to go to work. The administration told Nigerians that if it does not solve the power problem by providing a constant power supply, it should not be voted for a second term. Today, power supply is far worse, with some parts of the country receiving an average of two hours daily and some being in darkness for weeks and months at a stretch. Ordinarily, having made such a promise and failed woefully, an honest president should simply step down and not seek reelection. Rather, what we are witnessing is the most desperate attempt by a candidate in Nigerian electoral history to retain power at all costs, even if it means bringing down the entire democratic system.

@YusufAsunmogejo My friend, the post talks about Nigerians generally. The first part of your post says "it's rooted in our religion." What religion please? We are talking about Nigeria here. You only continue to talk about Prophet Muhammad this and that. Are Nigerians generally Muslims?

I have tried to ignore this trend. But my people keep tagging me to it. Let me just say a few things since they want to know why. First and foremost, shaving off the hair of a new born is rooted in our religion. And we practice it because we believe the Creator knows the best way to start a life. Once you accept that, then the logic and wisdom behind it fall into place. Shaving the head on the seventh day is a total reset for the child. The prophet (peace be upon him) said: أَمِيطُوا عَنْهُ الأَذَى which means "Remove from him the harm." That word “Aza” is what people translate as dirt, but it means so much more. It refers to anything that is a burden, an uncleanness, or a lingering weight. When people say that first hair is dirt, what they mean is that the hair it is soaked in womb fluids and birth oils for nine months. It is residue from a life that is finished. So, removing it is a physical and spiritual transition that lets the child start with a clean slate. It is like washing away the remnants of the past so the child can be fully present in this world. Apart from that, there are health benefits to it. A quick research I made revealed to me that the birth hair is usually vellus hair, which is thin and temporary. It often traps old skin and cradle cap that can make the scalp uncomfortable for the baby. Leaving it means the permanent hair has to fight through all that old buildup to grow. So when they tell you to shave the hair of a new born, it is like clearing a field before you plant new seeds. You remove the old grass so the new crop has the best chance to be strong. It’s a wisdom that says choose the long term health of the scalp over the short term vanity of birth curls. As you can see the mum is so amazed of the baby’s hair curls. Again the Prophet (peace be upon him) was said to weigh the hair and give its value in silver to the poor. The lesson here is in the value and charity that starts before the child can even speak. It teaches the parents to see their child as a gift to the community and it anchors the child in a system of gratitude. It shows that even the smallest part of a person has a worth that can be used to help someone else. So when someone mocks the tradition, they are only looking at the surface level. As Muslims, we are looking at a purification process that sets the whole life in order. It is about the wisdom of the collective and the discipline of our faith. As a concluding statement, we care more about the roots than the leaves. Allah knows best.

Why do Nigerians encourage shaving off the hair of babies after they turn a year?

'I met her when she was 6 months pregnant. She told me the baby's father was married & he dumped her when she refused to terminate the pregnancy. I took care of her until she gave birth. I paid thousands for her to give birth at a private hospital, cause there were complications. I even had to borrow more money from people cause what I had at the moment wasn't enough, as we had emergencies twice. The first was for her to give birth when complications occurred. Normally, I was prepared for that one, just in case, but what I wasn't prepared for was the one where we needed to save the baby. I rushed around & borrowed from good friends again. I paid that debt gradually for almost 8 months since my provision shop business hadn't been doing well. She has been staying with me ever since then & I take care of her & the baby. Since her grandmother, whom she lived with, isn't that strong & vibrant anymore & she's an orphan, I thought it wise to have her come to my place. My plan was to save enough money so we could open a small tomato business for her in order for her to start earning something & helping herself & the child, while I saved up for her bride price so we could start building our lives together. The baby is now one & a half years old. & Every weekend i try as much as possible to take us to a shoprite or any nice restaurant to have fun even though i make very little from my business but i do just to please her so she catches fun. Now, out of the blue, the baby's father wants to be part of the baby's life. I was not comfortable with it, but I understand he's the father. But shockingly, last month she told me she still loves the guy & she's leaving me for him. Even before telling me this, she's been seeing him, & worse, she's currently carrying a second child for him, even though she's been very protective & avoiding me getting her pregnant. I've knelt, I've cried, I've pleaded for her to stay with me. I love this girl so much. I believe we all make mistakes cuz no one is perfect. I was willing to forgive her & accept the second child as mine without the biological father knowing of its existence, but she had told him about the pregnancy already even before she told me. Basically, she dumped me—a guy who took care of her and was busy saving money for bride price to be a side chick again to someone who dumped her when she needed him the most, cuz the guy has promised her marriage. I don't want to lie, I'm more disappointed than hurt. We made so many plans for the future & I was looking forward to spending the rest of my life with her. I'm 38 years old. At this stage, I doubt I'll ever be with another woman.'

This season, Man Utd fans are smarter than Chelsea fans. Let me give you 2 valid scenarios; - They were pushing Bruno Fernandes over Rice leaving their own player & the following week, the same Chelsea fans were cheering PSG as they thrashed them. - Against Man City, Man Utd fans joined Chelsea to celebrate their defeat & now, the same Chelsea will be playing Man Utd by week & Man Utd fans are hoping to destroy them at Stamford Bridge again. The blue side are Mumus 🤣
