My personal theory for ignoring the smoke detector chirp is that years of desensitization to high pitch squeaking/chirping sounds from exposure to basketball has effectively trained Basketball-Americans to ignore it. Zambezi tribesmen can hear the smoke detector from miles away

@r3hatar @promptborzai He was in talks to sell his land to a local rich family, pushed his asking price up too high, so they got the city government to rezone everything around him and cut off his access to the road and utilities. City wouldn't grant him an easement to connect to sewer. Closed him down

To say that I have been disappointed in the Lebanese Armed Forces’ leadership under General Haykal and their willingness to take on Hezbollah is an understatement. Now, the LAF is openly talking about abandoning Christian villages in the South, subjecting them to Hezbollah attacks and trying to blame Israel. To the Lebanese government, this is a very dangerous decision and you will be held accountable for the consequences of this decision if Christian villages are attacked by Hezbollah.
