@jerichsen66 @flushingitgolf I would imagine a huge consideration for Rose is future captaincy for Ryder Cup, and we’ve seen how that’s affected Stenson, Poulter and Westwood. I’d hazard a guess that Rose could still go to LIV at 50 and get 40m+

45 year old Justin Rose could have joined LIV in 2022 but instead committed to the PGA Tour. Since then, he’s won twice, come runner up in 2 majors, qualified for 2 Ryder Cups and will likely be top 10 in the world again tomorrow. Mad respect 👏🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

@flushingitgolf @AndrewKirbyGolf I would hasten to add that Rose knows where he is in the loop when it comes to future RC captaincy too, & as much as I would STILL be desperate to see a Poulter & Westwood captaincy respectively, the reality of that is much less if he takes his $80-100m (that’s a guess) from LIV

@AndrewKirbyGolf It’s not irrelevant. Competing in majors and Ryder Cups would have been a huge factor in his decision and he’s elevated his game to deliver on it. That’s class. There’s success stories of players who went to LIV and the same for those who didn’t. All of them need to be told.

@flushingitgolf I was at Portrush for the first round at @TheOpen this week. There were FIVE groups at one point on the 7th hole, 607 yd par 5. On the fairway hitting their 2nd shots Group waiting on tee box 3 more groups waiting having finished the par 3 6th

It’s taking 4 hours for the afternoon groups to play just 11 holes at The Open today. Slow play is becoming the biggest problem in the sport and it needs addressing with tough penalties for the repeat offenders. As Brooks said: “start stroking guys”!
