In the past, China-haters used footage of this being done in China and claimed China was painting itself green for publicity.
This is how derranged the haters actually are. They will lie about ANYTHING if they think it will make more people dislike/fear China.
If someone only posts rac!st or hateful content about China, question why, and do a little research.

@nxt888 Official investigation into the USS Vincennes' captain cleared him of wrongdoing, as he interpreted radar data to believe that the Iranian airliner was an Iranian F-14 Tomcat attacking the Vincennes. Iran had previously damaged the USS Samual B. Roberts through mining.

Interesting word choice, Andrew.
The Vincennes was not in the Strait of Hormuz by accident. It was there because the U.S. Navy was actively operating in Iranian territorial waters during a war in which Washington was covertly backing the other side.
It was not an accident that the U.S. was arming Saddam Hussein while he used chemical weapons on Iranians.
It was not an accident that the Reagan administration gave Iraq satellite intelligence to strike Iranian positions.
It was not an accident that the U.S. was running Operation Praying Mantis against the Iranian navy in the same theater, in the same period.
The Vincennes was not there by coincidence. It was part of a sustained U.S. military operation against a country that had not attacked the United States.
Iran Air 655 was a scheduled commercial passenger flight.
It was squawking civilian identification codes.
It was climbing.
It was in Iranian airspace.
290 people were killed because the U.S. military was operating aggressively in a theater it had no right to be in, against a country it was already covertly at war with, and then shot a civilian airliner.
Now tell me: what country gives its military commanders medals for accidents?
Not accidents they tried to prevent and failed.
Not accidents followed by accountability, investigation, apology.
This accident. This specific one. With 290 bodies.
The U.S. government reviewed what happened, considered the evidence, and decided Captain Rogers deserved an honor.
Legion of Merit.
That decision is the statement. Not mine.
The U.S. government made it. I am just asking you to look at it directly instead of reaching for "Iranian threats" the moment someone asks you to.
You are defending the medal.
You just do not realize it because calling someone a shill is easier than facing what your own government chose to reward.

This Japanese dude was "shocked" when his UK international school daughter felt "ashamed to be Japanese" after learning about the Nanjing Massacre. He held a family meeting and tried to convince her it was exaggerated Chinese propaganda.
This is a big slap in the face to those who say "it’s the past, let bygones be bygones." While some Japanese do reflect on their brutal history, many others continue to downplay or twist it — calling the suffering of invaded nations “propaganda” and shielding their children from the truth.
Can you imagine the German government denying Nazi history without consequences? Yet the Japanese government has been doing exactly this for decades: denying, downplaying, and erasing its wartime atrocities — from comfort women to the suffering across Asia.
The girl shouldn’t feel ashamed of being Japanese. She should actually be proud that she’s learning the truth about history and showing sympathy for the victims.
It’s her parents — the ones proudly twisting history and misleading their own child — who should feel ashamed, not her.
A nation built on lies and denial can never be truly strong or respected.

Let me reconstruct the timeline so we're working from actual events rather than impressions.
1858: France begins military conquest of Vietnam.
1887: France formally establishes French Indochina.
1945: Hồ Chí Minh declares Vietnamese independence after Japanese occupation ends.
1945: France announces its intention to recolonize Vietnam.
1946: Hồ Chí Minh negotiates in Paris. Signs preliminary agreements.
1946: France shells Haiphong. Kills six thousand civilians. Occupies Hanoi.
1954: Vietnam defeats France at Điện Biên Phủ. Geneva Accords mandate national elections.
1956: United States prevents the elections because Hồ Chí Minh would win 80 percent.
1965: United States begins massive military escalation.
1975: Vietnam wins.
At which moment in that sequence did Hồ Chí Minh "choose war" in the sense that implies a peaceful alternative was available and he rejected it?
The French chose war in 1946 when they shelled Haiphong.
The Americans chose war in 1956 when they cancelled the election.
The Americans chose war again in 1964 with the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution. The attack that justified it was fabricated. They knew. They escalated anyway.
Hồ Chí Minh responded to wars that were brought to his country.
For over a century, from 1858 to the end of the American war in 1975, Vietnam was a country being fought over by foreign powers.
The question is not why Hồ Chí Minh chose war.
The question is why you describe as a choice something that was, for the Vietnamese people, simply the condition of existence under colonialism.

@nxt888 Ho chi minh was a communist first everything else 2nd. Old man was drunk on power didnt care how many people died. He could ve been like Aung San gradually negotiated. Or like Fidel Castro only declare socialism win after the revolution. Ho Chi Minh refused to wait chose war.
