The Western Wall in Jerusalem stands as the last remnant of the Second Temple complex, expanded by Herod in 19 BCE to house the Holy of Holies on the Temple Mount—Judaism's holiest site. Destroyed by Roman legions in 70 CE amid the Jewish Revolt, it miraculously endured, fulfilling an ancient Midrash prophecy. Its massive Herodian stones weigh up to 570 tons, quarried nearby, with underground tunnels even revealing inscriptions from Isaiah.
This site is a testament to the 3,000-year-old Jewish bond to Eretz Israel—with the First Temple pre-dating the Muslim Dome of the Rock by over 1,600 years. Yet, in a brazen and shameless act of cultural appropriation, Palestinian and anti-Zionist propagandists have written the Jews out of their own story, erasing biblical and archaeological truth. Moreover, Jews—the most ancient and indigenous inhabitants of Jerusalem—endure ethnic and religious discrimination on the Temple Mount itself: barred from praying by Jordanian Waqf overlords, under a "status quo" that appeases anti-Jewish bigotry.
No other people can boast of such a deep-seated history and continuous connection to a holy site as the Jews do to the Temple Mount—the very definition of indigeneity and cultural rootedness.
