Since I am post partum it's a great time to remind everyone that your estrogen tanks after birth and can remain that way for months- this can contribute to post partum night sweats, depression, and urinary/genital symptoms.

I am truly humbled to receive this award. FMWC has been the backdrop of my medical career; I joined in my first week of my first year medical student 40 yrs ago. I have been inspired, supported, mentored, sponsored by colleagues in FMWC, and share this honour with all of them.

@Parkerlawyer This is unfortunate! Side note- is there ever a possibility for both sides to just share custody and both see their children regularly to get them the benefit of both parents :( I feel like custody should always be shared unless a parent is a risk/unsafe.

I responded to 86 emails from a client over a 9 month period during her divorce. She won custody, assets, alimony, the works. Then she left a review that said, “She was good in court but communication with her is nearly impossible.” I don’t know what you people want from me.

my 13yo stepdaughter just said, "remember when the night before vacation you would have all the suitcases packed and in the car and the house totally clean and we would wake up and you'd have breakfast ready for me and we'd leave? but now we have extra children."

It is insanity that a kid has to wait 3 years to see a gastroenterologist. That is harmful and unacceptable. If you asked me how many pediatric gastroenterologists we need in BC I’d have no idea. Government wouldn’t either. The universities wouldn’t. It’s not straightforward. The same can be said for all specialties. Clearly though if a wait is 3 years we don’t have enough. Paying more doesn’t solve the problem if there are no people to hire. Government needs an independent body that is not political, not driven by doctors or money, just laser focused on collating the best data to give a yearly recommendation on training positions for each specialty and then government directs the universities to follow those recommendations. It needs to be forward thinking so we plan for 20 years. This scrambling year after year is so not working. I challenge all the political parties in BC to move forward on this. An open transparent public process. We can do better. 3 years waiting? Come on.
