Honestly, it looks like the taser caused him to arch back and pull the trigger. His finger shouldn’t have even been on the trigger but I don’t think he meant to pull it in that moment.

@_middleEarth They used to only have 5 nominees. Now it’s 10. Thats the real reason why LOTR swept. That and the early 2000’s was the dark ages of films. There wasn’t anything good releasing along side LOTR. So it just won everything. That can’t happen now with Dune. Especially this year!

@_middleEarth Considering that the criteria for the Awards have changed so much. I'm not sure you can measure awards won anymore. Dune will never be as epic as Lord of the Rings.

@SpawnYaardReply To be fair, even the people famous for digging into lore of Elden Ring, Dark Souls etc, don't always agree on what things mean. Existing within a world that has its own history gives you access to making your own story, with you as the narrator, by how you interact with it.

Why are people saying Elden Ring doesn't have a good story or all Soulslike games don't have a story? You know stories are not just told through cut scenes, right?

They were all the best of their year. It is not arrogance; being a 30-year-old star rarely fits the historical profile of Best Actor winners. They usually win later, often for smaller performances (as in the cases of Pacino and DiCaprio), while O’Toole was never properly rewarded in competition. Chalamet will have his year, and he will continue to be a star and a better actor than the awards dictates.
