@Awkward_HS @SpawnYaardReply Very much so. And some people have a good story there and others just exist there.
English

@CraigFish72 @SpawnYaardReply Sounds like life and our history on earth.
English

Why are people saying Elden Ring doesn't have a good story or all Soulslike games don't have a story?
You know stories are not just told through cut scenes, right?

SpawnYaard 🎮@SpawnYaardReply
Read through a bunch of Crimson Desert reviews and here is the summary:
English

@SpawnYaardReply Yes, and no. I explored heavily, everything I could find. But I rarely understood the importance of places, things or people because I didn't spend hours poring over item descriptions.
English

@CraigFish72 Then it comes down to how much you explore, right? The more you explore, the better you understand the world and its story.
English

@SpawnYaardReply Does Elden Ring have an awesome history? Yes. Was I aware of any of it while playing the game? Absolutely not. Could I have told anyone what it's about without talking about game mechanics, before I watched lore videos? Not a chance.
English

@SpawnYaardReply This isn't the same thing as playing through a narrative game with written story beats, even when they offer heavy player choice - the results of those choices are still prewritten and offered to the player as a reward for unlocking them. Some might call it spoon-feeding, but -
English

@SpawnYaardReply Plenty of players prefer to have the narrative shown to them rather than having to build it themselves.
There's room for both.
English

@SynthPotato Frankly, I consider low scores from several of those sites to be a net positive.
English

Crimson Desert reviews are finally here, the verdicts are in, unfortunately, a much lower score than I hoped.

@favoga_ Amazing right from the start. My buddy watched me play for about 6 hours straight and bought a Playstation the next day so he could play it.
English

@nuhre_ I'm more excited for The Expanse because I love that universe so much, but this definitely runs a close second so far!
English

A lot of people aren’t familiar with Exodus, an upcoming Mass Effect-like that puts a twist on the whole “humanity reaching for the stars” sci-fi concept.
Here’s what we know so far:
• Narrative-driven sci-fi RPG from Archetype Entertainment, a studio backed by Wizards of the Coast
• Led by veterans from BioWare (yes, that era)
• Set in a far-future universe where humanity has fled Earth and is struggling to survive among advanced “alien” civilizations
• You play as “The Traveler,” sent on dangerous missions across space
• Core theme: time dilation—you leave for missions that feel like days for you, but years pass for everyone else
• Your choices don’t just affect outcomes—they affect relationships because people literally move on without you
• Heavy focus on companions, relationships, and player-driven narrative
• Strong emphasis on cinematic storytelling and worldbuilding
• Designed as a new sci-fi saga
• Confirmed platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S
• Still early/WIP gameplay shown, so there’s room for improvement
No release date yet.
But between ex-BioWare devs, time-bending narrative mechanics, and that twist on space exploration?
Sign me the hell up.

@TheBlackHokage Nice writeup! I didn't try the demo, but I think I might like to after reading this. The preview video snippets I've seen don't do a good job explaining what makes this different.
It sounds like those drones might just be rare spawns, like loot goblins.
English

@mrpyo1 I'd guess 85-ish. I think it'll get dinged a bit for what I hear is a pretty obscure control scheme and unclear puzzle design.
English

@SpawnYaardReply Actually, now that I think about it, that might not be correct. I think the one I'm remembering was fan created using the in-game photo and adding him from the face model you can see if the game bugs out.
English

@CraigFish72 Ooh, thanks! I'll keep an eye out. Everyone kept saying we never see him
English

@NikTek There's potential here, but doesn't it mean every player's version of the game may look slightly different?
English

I can't believe that Nvidia looked at this "AI on top of games filter" and said to themselves this is the future of gaming.
Like it or not, this is where Nvidia is heading and they're calling it neural rendering with DLSS 5.
The examples they've showed reminded me a lot of those AI generated filter videos on top of GTA V, except that now it is supposed to run in real-time.
Honestly, I don't like this current look at all
English

@SpawnYaardReply I finally broke down and preordered a little while back. They've been open enough about the game, and I've seen enough that even if not everything pans out there'll be enough to keep me busy a long time.
English

@SpawnYaardReply Looks kinda cool and unique. I think I'd have trouble getting my friends to try it, but it could be fun.
English

@babybeginner I've known a handful over the years that don't like being touched on the back right near the base of their tail. Others love it - go figure! Our Loki gets agitated if you scratch him there.
