This story has me raging and heartbroken... A California couple is facing 27 felony charges for allegedly torturing their own 11-year-old niece for over a year. Priscilla Mestaz (37) and her boyfriend Anthony Machuca (36) from Salida had the girl living with them since summer 2024. Police say they punched, slapped, and str*ngled her, forced her to sleep in an unheated, unfinished garage with no bed through freezing winters, starved her until she was malnourished, made her do punishing workouts while threatening beatings if she stopped, dragged her around the house on a dog leash like an animal, and screamed nonstop threats and abuse. On January 31, the girl finally told deputies she was terrified to go home because her aunt was hurting her. A search warrant, security footage, and her detailed account all matched up. Machuca was arrested that day. Mestaz, pregnant at the time and was booked March 12 right after giving birth. Their 4-year-old and newborn were taken into protective custody. The kicker that makes this even sicker: Priscilla Mestaz worked as a CHILD AND FAMILY SERVICES CASE MANAGER. She was literally paid to protect kids. They’re charged with torture, child endangerment likely to cause death, assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, the full list. Investigation continues with tons of digital evidence. How does an 11-year-old get treated worse than a stray dog in 2026, thank God this baby finally escaped. Pray she heals and these two face real justice.
