If Carney didn’t steal a majority, why are he and the CBC so obsessed with destroying Poilievre?

This is pure comedy. Mark Carney, who made all of his money outside of Canada with most of his money invested in America and hasn't lived here for years, is using a figurine given to him by Mike Myers who made all of his money in the US and lives in the US, to warn Canadians against the threat of America.

OTTAWA — A new poll has found that 89% of Canadians believe Donald Trump is to blame for Canada’s struggling economy, citing everything from rising grocery prices to housing costs and general financial anxiety. How, exactly, Trump is responsible remains unclear. “It’s complicated,” one respondent said. “But every time something feels off, he seems like a safe bet.” The survey found strong consensus across demographics, with many Canadians expressing confidence in their conclusion despite being unable to point to a direct connection. “I don’t follow all the details,” another participant admitted. “But it just feels related.” Meanwhile, when asked about their own biggest financial concerns, respondents pointed to inflation, taxes, housing affordability, and stagnant wages—issues largely tied to domestic policy. Analysts say the results reflect a growing tendency to assign complex problems to simple, external causes. “It’s easier,” one observer noted. “You don’t have to rethink anything—you just have to agree on who to blame.” Because when the economy gets harder to explain, the explanation doesn’t get more accurate— It just gets louder.

Liberals and Carney have exactly two slogans: “Elbows up” — a dirty hockey move. And now bragging about the War of 1812 “victory”… which was literally a bluff. That’s it. That’s the entire playbook. Lies, bluffs, and dirty plays. Meanwhile they want to flip the switch on 80%+ of our exports — our biggest trading partner — like it’s no big deal. Any small, medium or large business would call that suicidal. Carney’s own track record is failure after failure, yet he’s supposed to be the genius banker? Diversify? Fine. But jumping in bed with China and India — our biggest security threats — while torching the relationship that built modern Canada? And they have the nerve to mock Pierre over security clearance while Carney hides behind gag orders and backroom deals. This isn’t leadership. This is a failing casino where the house always wins… and Canadians are the ones getting fleeced. When do we finally call the bluff? What’s the one Liberal slogan or move that frustrates you the most right now? Drop it below 👇 #cdnpoli

Liberal record: $1 Trillion net investment exodus in 10 years. More businesses closing than opening. Worst food inflation, highest housing costs, and most household debt among G7 countries. Canada's economic foundation is crumbling, and Mark Carney is making it worse.

I don't like to psychoanalyze politicians, but Carney strikes me as a man who has a lot of identity issues he's now trying to project onto Canada. He wishes he was British, he wants to be European, he's spent so much time making money in the US, but hates and resents America...

Mark Carney ran on getting a deal with the US by July 2025. Not on making a free trade agreement with Brazil by maybe December 2026. He is the biggest fraud going. How is he not held accountable?

It's all an illusion. Liberal Mark Carney opposed the Northern Gateway pipeline. He imposed rebranded and higher carbon taxes. He called to keep half of Canada's oil in the ground. And he kept every Liberal anti-development law on the books. Get this Liberal government out of the way, green-light a pipeline, and let our workers get shovels in the ground and resources to market.

I get that this elbows-up crap plays well politically within Canada, but as @Afinetheorem said, it's "economic malpractice." Our physical proximity to the US isn't a weakness---it's one of our most valuable endowments. The Canada-US border is totally unique. Geographically and topographically speaking, there's nothing else like it in the world. It's far cheaper technologically for Ontario & Quebec to trade with the midwest & east coast than with BC & the prairie provinces. And vice versa: getting stuff from New York City to Los Angeles is technologically more expensive than getting that same stuff to Toronto. Regardless of what political leaders on both sides of the border say and do, Americans and Canadians will want to trade intensively with each other. Whether we have a free trade agreement or 25% tariffs, that's still going to happen (a 25% tariff is still much lower than non-tariff cost of moving stuff to Europe or Asia). Donald Trump can't change that, and neither can Mark Carney. Frankly, Carney's single most important job is to manage our relationship with the US so that we can get as much economic value out of it as possible. Trying to design policies to redirect economic activity away from the US is just going to make Canada poorer, and it's going to be counterproductive, anyway---again, the geographic and topographic realities are simply too strong. (By the way, the fact that we've somehow gotten poorer than a geographically isolated, but otherwise fairly similar, country like Australia is shocking. But it's totally wrong to expect that making ourselves more effectively isolated is what's going to somehow make us richer.)
