27 months is a huge milestone brother, congratulations! Your family must be proud of you. My dad used to drink a lot when I was a kid, and it had a massive impact on me. It used to be two weeks of full drinking without breaks and then puking, stopping for some months before he went back to his addiction. He has been sober for 13 years already. If he hadn't stopped, it could've taken his life. Seeing my dad as a kid made me never drink in my life.

I am 27 months sober today. The photo on the left is me in 2023. I was not a father. I was not a husband. I was not a good person. I could not imagine doing video content because I had hives most of the time from alcohol abuse. I hated myself and tried to escape myself at the bottom of countless bottles daily. Every day I made promises to myself that I could not keep. I let people, places, and things take advantage of me because I refused to take accountability for myself, and I did not respect myself. I wanted to die and was succeeding. The two photos on the right are today (with my oldest). Today I am a father. I am far from perfect, but I am working to show up for my children in good times and in bad. Today I am a husband who can show up for his wife. I am constantly learning how to deal with emotions I avoided for over 20 years of addiction. I hold myself accountable. I can be humble and pray to remain humble. I forgive without forgetting. I can continue learning to pray meaningfully. I mean what I say and say what I mean. I am hopeful I can continue this journey without taking anything for granted. I may forever be a work in progress, but at least today I am working on it.
