I wasn’t planning to build an algo model. But I accidentally found something interesting while backtesting. And the numbers surprised me. So of course… I went deeper. The idea started as a simple observation in $NQ futures. A very specific time-based behavior that kept repeating in the data. At first I assumed it was just noise. So I tested it. Backtest range: Jan 1, 2020 → Today Results: • 1410 trades • 77.9% win rate • Max portfolio drawdown $1,880 At that point I still assumed: “Probably curve-fit.” So I did the only thing that actually matters. I built a fully mechanical strategy in Pine Script and tested it again. Same logic. Same rules. No discretion. AND THE EDGE STILL HELD. — The model is extremely simple. Every day at exactly 2:00am New York time the system gives one trade on Nasdaq. No prediction. No analysis. No chart watching. Just: Long or Short. — Execution rules: • 1 micro contract (MNQ) • TP: $300 (150 points) • SL: $300 If price reaches +$250 I move stop to +$200 locked profit So the outcome becomes: • +$300 win • +$200 secured profit • -$300 loss — Backtests are one thing. Markets are another. So I started forward testing the system live. A dedicated prop firm evaluation account LUCID running the model exactly as designed. No overrides. No discretion. Just execution. — Day 1 of forward testing (today) +$300 System followed exactly. Goal of this experiment: Can a simple mechanical model pass a $50k prop firm evaluation trading one trade per day? Every day. 2:00am New York time. The indicator decides. — I’ll be posting results publicly. Wins. Losses. Drawdowns. Everything. Because most traders don’t fail because their strategy is bad… They fail because their execution is inconsistent. This experiment removes that excuse. — Let’s see if the edge survives real markets. Would you trust a system that trades once per day at the exact same time? #AlgoTrading #FuturesTrading

I got interested in algo trading recently. And I think I may have found a real edge. It’s 100% mechanical on $NQ Every day at exactly 2:00am New York time, the system gives a trade automatically. No prediction. No overthinking. No emotional bias. The indicator shows: long or short entry exactly at 2am. stop loss take profit break-even trigger It also has built-in alerts. The framework is simple: TP: 150 points SL: 150 points On 1 mini contract that means: +$300 win -$300 loss If the price reaches +$250, I will stop to BE in profit at +$205. That’s the whole model. What makes it interesting is this: In backtesting, it delivered 75%+ win rate and the historical drawdown never reached a level that would have blown a $50k prop firm account. So now I’m doing what most traders avoid: forward testing it on a live market with a dedicated eval account Because backtests are not enough. But when a model is: mechanical repeatable risk-defined time-based simple to execute …it deserves to be tested properly. Too many traders lose money not because their idea is bad… but because their execution is inconsistent. This experiment removes that excuse. Now the question is simple: Does the edge survive real conditions? That’s what I’m about to find out. Would you run a system like this live? #AlgoTrading #PropFirm

There's a free ChatGPT feature that beats NotebookLM for learning. And it covers 70+ topics. Here's what it does: You type "explain Ohm's law with a visual." ChatGPT doesn't give you a wall of text. It builds an interactive graph with sliders. You drag voltage up. Current goes up. You drag resistance up. Current drops. You literally watch the math happen. It works for compound interest too. Drag the time slider forward. Watch the curve go from flat to vertical. You see exactly why starting early matters. 3 seconds. That used to take an entire lecture. It covers physics. Chemistry. Math. All in one place. Linear equations. Kinetic energy. Ideal gas law. Exponential decay. No app to download. No account needed. Just type a prompt. NotebookLM is a librarian. It finds and summarizes stuff. ChatGPT is now a teacher. It lets you experiment with the answer. Both are useful. But this is a different game. Free for everyone right now. Try this: "show me an interactive graph of compound interest." Save this. You'll use it this week.

The TradingView Source Code "Glitch" That Quant Firms Are Terrified You’ll Discover the most guarded secret in trading isn't a secret strategy or a magical indicator but a tiny button on your chart that most people ignore while they are busy getting liquidated. i spent years thinking the top quant funds had some hidden math that i would never understand because i was just a guy with a laptop and a dream. the reality is that the smartest trading minds in the world are literally giving you their source code every single day for free and you just haven't been looking in the right place most traders wake up at nine thirty in the morning and drink their coffee while staring at candles hoping today is the day they finally get it right. they are fighting against high frequency algorithms and multi billion dollar firms with nothing but their gut feeling and a prayer. i know this because i used to be that guy who spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on developers for apps thinking i would never be able to code myself. i was terrified of the terminal and thought that my only path to success was to pay someone else to build my dreams for me until i realized that code is the great equalizer there is a massive glitch in the matrix of tradingview that nobody talks about because it feels like you are cheating. every single time you see a fancy indicator like an island reversal or a volume profile or some complex liquidity detector you are looking at thousands of hours of research. you can literally click a small icon that says source code and the entire logic of that indicator is laid bare for you to take. the smartest people at firms like lux algo or top community contributors have already done the heavy lifting of figuring out the math for you. you just need to know how to take that raw logic and turn it into a system that trades while you sleep the problem is that most people see that code and their eyes glaze over because they don't know pinescript or python. they think they need a computer science degree to make sense of the variables and the loops when the bridge to automation is actually sitting right there in an ai window. i started learning to code live on youtube because i knew that if i didn't automate my trading i would eventually lose everything to emotion and over trading. losing money through liquidations is the most painful way to learn but it forced me to realize that i had to become the person who builds the bots instead of the person who fights them if you take that raw pinescript and feed it into an ai agent with a specific backtesting template you can build a full trading system in less than ten minutes. what used to take me eight hours of manual coding and debugging is now a one shot process where the machine does the heavy lifting. the secret is having a solid template on github that acts as the foundation so the ai knows exactly how to structure the data and the trades. you are essentially taking the brain of a world class indicator developer and plugging it into your own automated engine without having to write a single line of logic from scratch this is the rbi system which stands for research backtest and implement because without data you are just gambling with high leverage. the research part is solved by the thousands of indicators available on tradingview that you can now strip down to their raw code. once you have the idea you must backtest it in a neutral environment like python instead of relying on the built in tools that often lie to you. tradingview has a massive problem with something called repainting where indicators look like they are winning because they can see the future data in the past. if you see a backtest that looks too good to be true on a chart it probably is because the candles are being manipulated by the script after the fact moving your logic into python is the only way to get the truth about whether a strategy actually works or if it's just a visual illusion. when you run a backtest in a real coding environment there is no hiding from the statistics and the drawdowns. i don't believe in the holy grail or a single indicator that will make you a millionaire overnight because that's a lie sold to people who want a shortcut. i believe in the power of iteration where you test hundreds of ideas until you find the one or two that actually have a statistical edge. the person who tests the most ideas is the person who wins the game because they have more data than the person trading by hand the reason i show everything for free is that i want to empower the individual trader to stop being a liquidity provider for the big institutions. we are in an era where ai agents can do the work of an entire dev team for a fraction of the cost and zero ego. i spent so much money in the past on developers who didn't understand trading logic only to find out that i could do it better myself by just being persistent. iteration is the only path to success in this game because your first ten bots will probably fail and your eleventh might change your life forever. you have to be willing to fail fast and move on to the next indicator until the numbers start to make sense most people are too scared to start because they think the mountain is too high to climb but they are already standing on the shoulders of giants. you have access to the same indicators and the same data that the pros use if you just stop looking at the pretty colors and start looking at the code. the glitch isn't just a technical thing on a website it's a shift in mindset where you realize you don't have to be a genius to be a quant. you just have to be the person who is willing to click the source code button and put in the work to automate the logic trading by hand is like trying to win a car race on a bicycle while the other guys are using jet engines. you might get lucky for a few laps but eventually the math will catch up to you and you will get left behind in the dust. code allows you to trade with zero emotion and zero fatigue which are the two biggest killers of any trading account. i am fully automated now because i decided that my time was better spent researching and backtesting than staring at a screen for twelve hours a day. the freedom that comes with knowing your systems are running in the background is the ultimate goal for anyone in this space you can find a million reasons why you can't do this but the reality is that the tools are already in your hands right now. start by finding one indicator that looks interesting and look at the source code to see how it actually calculates its signals. use a template to bridge that logic into a backtest and see if it holds up over the last five years of data. if it doesn't work you haven't lost any money and you are now smarter than you were ten minutes ago. keep doing that every day until you find your edge and you will realize that code really is the great equalizer for anyone willing to learn
