Jake Gallen traces Emblem Vault’s roots to 2013, when founder Shannon was an early developer at Mastercoin, the first crypto protocol on Bitcoin, shortly after Vitalik left.
The idea started in 2016 as a simple “tradable wallet” to send Bitcoin like an email, long before Ethereum’s smart contracts. It later evolved into a multi chain vaulting system.

Bear markets expose it quick.
Everyone’s rotating through L1s and ecosystems right now like it’s musical chairs with real money on the line. But the apps that actually survive aren’t the ones chasing the next narrative. They’re the ones that built real distribution and gave people a reason to stick around when the easy money leaves.
AI made launching cheap. Crypto made turning users into participants possible. Making anyone actually care? That’s still the expensive, hard part.
