@NerdiestNic Its not redemption. Even Jax admits how he/she was a terrible person and caused his/her own miserey and that of others. We got an explanation, not an apology. Yes Jax backstory has to do with this behaivior but its not an excuse and the Show does not frame it as that.

Digital Circus makes a lot more sense if you view Jax as the villain instead of Caine or even their circumstances I also feel his redemption arc in the finale falls flat because he never gets to atone to the people he hurt like Gangle. We just get a trauma dump for sympathy points and then he’s gone for good You can tell us why someone acts the way they do and what led them to this point, MHA does it very will with its villains, but I think Jax’s arc is too rushed and far too late in the series to have any meaningful impact.

The problem with this is that gooseworks has established herself as a unreliable source and that the only things you should 100% take as fact is what’s in the show. In the show Jax and Leeroy are not trans. And so by the text of the work in question Jax isn’t trans.
