@CarcinogenSDA Yeah I still like the game, but that doesn't mean I can't dislike the tank controls. And this is coming from someone who grew up during this era of gaming. I'm all for nostalgia for games and concepts from older eras of games, but that doesn't mean that there's no outdated parts.

There's very few things I'll actually unironically claim 'skill issue' over, but If you can't play tank controls in RE, it's a skill issue. Not sorry. Every attack is dodgeable in every scenario by design. The game 95% fair. Put in some effort. Tank is just uncommon.

@JazineG They should've given the MC more abilities than just Knife and Gun. Having something like in SMT4 where you can take abilities off your Demons would go a long way.

Strange Journey is one of the megaten games, that at least for me, is as close to perfect as you can get. I feel like every other megaten game I have played is great but usually has at least 1 major flaw that holds it back. But SJ never felt that way for me.

@oftheplanet_ You know what's ironic? If Sephiroth wanted to leave at any time, he could have. Even before he went insane, Sephiroth was an unstoppable force of nature in battle. NO ONE in Shinra would've been able to stop him.

Sephiroth's situation is that of a captive. He does what he's told to avoid risking his life. He knows what ShinRa does to ppl who leave & know too much about the company. He finally considered leaving when he realized he had nothing left to lose after Angeal & Genesis left.

@shadydoorags The problem is DnD deals with a lot of players that like to deliberately derail campaigns or focus on things that aren't important. DM's put a lot of work into making campaigns, but it's impossible to account for every single thing.

If a DM wants to draw attention to a room, I think that's fine and dandy, but when he does it exclusively after the player chose to ignore the room, while not a horrendous way to DM, that ultimately has some consequences I feel should be avoided. For one, you've gone against player agency which can be very annoying. Second, you're teaching your players that whenever they accidentally avoid something important, you will point it out to them. You're taking the responsibility of them noticing important things and putting it on yourself, which will cause them to stop trying to look for important things altogether. Part of what makes exploration fun is the chance of disappointment. There could be a great treasure, there could be nothing, or there could be something, but it's not worth getting. You lose something when you always know the valuable rewards of exploring. I've had a giant rant in me for a long time about how modern gaming in both tabletops and video games has somehow filled itself with people who struggle whenever given too much freedom, as well as those that can't handle the concept of consequences, which in turn has lead to devs, dm, etc, creating games with less actual freedom and/or consequences. Essentially, Fallout 4 vs Fallout New Vegas. Almost, if not all gaming should have at least SOME direction, but I feel like my line for where things get invasive is way lower than the average modern gamer. Admittedly, my experience in modern gaming is severely limited (hence me using Fallout 4 as an example), so maybe my anecdotal perspective isn't the best out there.

@AeresChronicles The DM created a story for his players to play and likely worked a long time to try to build everything, and you dismiss it all as a "Fanfic"? Why are you actively encouraging players to be derailing jerks?

DM advice that so thoroughly ruined an entire generation of D&D that the company is slowly discontinuing their own product. It's taken years for new gamers to shake off their stupor, and they might not fully recover. #dnd

@ShadowEliteHD There's a big difference between mastering a complete set of controls and moves based on various combos or timing... and just basic fucking movement. Its one of those things where you dont notice or complain about it if it's done right.

How is it that people can master Souls games and Elden Ring or can do intricate combos in Fighting games... But can't master Tank Controls?

@GavelGamer I always felt this place was severly underutilized considering it's lore implications. All the stuff it implies or could lead to just ends up leading to nothing.
