Have you ever looked at the world and felt like it’s broken — and you just don’t know how to fix it? Maybe it’s felt like the only option is to put on your armor and head into battle. Today I’m launching something NEW, something I hope will speak to your heart right where you are. 🎥 This is the first episode of my new video series, The Radiant Return. Each short episode is an invitation to remember the light within you — especially in moments of fear, struggle, or uncertainty. Subscribe on YouTube to journey with me, and visit the new website to explore more. (link in the first reply) May you always know how beloved you are in this life!

After a speech, I got a message from an attendee: “You feel like a friend I’ve always had, I just didn’t know it.” I love that so much.

At a speaking engagement in Phoenix, I chatted with a 59-year-old man who was meeting his birth mother the next day. When he learned that he would get to meet her, he smiled so big with his eyes filled with tears. He said, “They found me.”

People confuse emotional control with emotional health. Health is flexibility. The ability to move through states without getting stuck. That’s a regulated system.

Boredom is bull. It isn't a problem with the world - it's a problem with our eyes. For decades I looked at my morning coffee and saw "coffee." A label. A solved equation. My brain had filed it under "known" and stopped investigating approximately twenty years ago. Same with my partner's face. The sky. My own hands. Everything familiar had been reduced to a concept and shelved. I was living in a mental museum of taxidermied experiences, wondering why nothing felt alive. Then one morning - for reasons I still can't explain - I looked at the steam rising from the cup and actually saw it. Not "steam." THIS. Moving, curling, dissolving. Completely unrepeatable. Gone before I could frame it. And something cracked open. I realized every label I'd ever applied to anything was a photograph taped over a window. The label said "tree." The reality was an incomprehensible living explosion of green that had never occurred before in the history of the universe and would never occur again. Everything - everything - is appearing for the first and last time. Your brain calls it "Tuesday" and moves on. Reality doesn't repeat. Only your concepts do. The freshness of being isn't something you create through practice. It's what's already here before thought arrives to categorize it. Boredom isn't proof that life is dull. It's proof that you're looking at your labels instead of what they're labeling.

You are not the sole author of your life. This might sound defeatist if you still believe in the separate self as captain of the ship. But what if the struggle against what is - that constant pushing against reality - is the real trap? Ask not only what you want, but what wants to become through you. Partnership with life replaces struggle against it. When you stop fighting the traffic, the job loss, the closed door, you become available for what actually wants to open. This isn't passive. It's the most engaged thing you'll ever do. You're collaborating with something vast.

Our son Logan is in his final semester of Law School. He is focused on Trust & Estate Planning. As the editor-and-chief of the Journal of Aging Law & Policy at Stetson University, Logan recently moderated a panel discussion of local practitioners in the field. I’m so proud of him! He’s becoming the first lawyer in our family. He chose this path for himself, without any of us really knowing how to mentor him on the journey. Yet, he keeps winning. He’s thriving in a world that relies on a totally different kind of intelligence than I have cultivated. I love seeing him step into his own power & strength. So grateful to walk with this extraordinary man as his father. We continue rising together!

Most keynotes end when the speaker walks off stage. This one started before I ever stepped onto it. In Greenville, SC, TD SYNNEX invited me to close their event. But instead of arriving with a pre-packaged talk, I showed up early with a camera and a question: What stories are already alive in this room? I spent the day before my speech filming on-camera interviews with attendees — real voices, real stories, real insights. I edited the video footage overnight. The next day, the audience watched their own stories unfold on the arena screen as part of the keynote. I call this “Instant Storytelling”… and it always feels like a special kind of magic. When people see themselves reflected back, something shifts. The energy rises. And the moment becomes a shared experience instead of just another event. I walked away grateful, inspired, and reminded again why I love this work so much. Stories don’t just inspire us. They connect us. If you’re planning an event and want your audience to feel seen, energized, and unforgettable, let’s talk. #TDSYNNEXSKO2026
