The amount of disrespect for Frank Leahy is disgusting among people on this app! As a Head Coach he built a record of 107-13-9 (.864 win percentage) at Boston College and Notre Dame. He won four national championships, coached four Heisman Trophy winners, and had a 39-game undefeated streak.

@ACumbow Saw him live this past season. Very high ceiling, better players around him will make him a better player. He is foul prone but can move and is athletic at 7’2. Could be a steal at the for State.

I’ll be honest and say that I would have preferred to see MSU go after a Bidunga, Thiam, Cyril, Sylla, etc type but Bonke is a solid addition. Will be nice to have a 7 footer on the team. Had interest from some other really good programs (Kansas, Gonzaga, Arkansas, etc). I think playing with good guards like Fears and Medlock will make him better offensively. He can stretch the floor a bit although we will see if he does that at MSU. Concerns I would have would be on the defensive end. I think offensively he will fit fine and be solid there. Roster I’m guessing is now set barring something crazy and Cooper or Kohler getting an additional year. I could also see them potentially adding a low profile guard as another ball handler with Ugochukwu leaving but I wouldn’t bet on that. I think they have enough guard depth as is. Jervis can be your emergency PG if necessary.

@TigeeDwayne One problem is that AAU teams try to play/practice in June when it should be for HS team camps. Also, during the June scholastic camps for HS teams, AAU trying to put on tournaments and asking kids to play in those instead of with their HS teams

This tug of war between AAU coaches and High School coaches is really bad for the kids. Asking kids to choose between their AAU coach and their high school coach is unhealthy for these kids.
