I'm filled with sadness as I share the news that my beloved friend of over 25 years, Al Sansom, has soared to eternal glory in Heaven. Troy Crane and I affectionately referred to him as the "Godfather". He was a legendary figure in Tennessee's sports world, Nashville Sporting Goods/BSN’s finest, leaving an enduring legacy. Our paths first crossed in 2001 at Wilson Central High School, where I began my first head coaching job and had the privilege of working alongside him. He was more than a remarkable sporting goods salesman - he was a guiding light and mentor to me. He was truly the best, radiating excellence in all he did. His arrival was always anticipated with excitement, marked by his stylish Cadillac or Lincoln adorned with the personalized NIKE plate. His cool demeanor and charisma made him a cherished figure. Even in retirement, our bond remained strong, and he fought courageously until the end. When I retired in 2024, despite his health challenges, he selflessly attended my retirement celebration, making it an unforgettable moment. Your departure leaves a void, "Godfather", but your life was a blessing to me and many others. Love you Al ❤️❤️❤️
