MESSAGE I wholeheartedly endorse the powerful appeal for peace made by the Holy Father, Pope Leo, during his Palm Sunday Mass. His call for the laying down of arms and the renunciation of violence resonated profoundly with me, as it speaks to the very essence of what all major religions teach. Indeed, whether we look to Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism or any of the world's great spiritual traditions, the message is fundamentally the same: love, compassion, tolerance, and self-discipline. Violence finds no true home in any of these teachings. History has shown us time and again that violence only begets more violence and is never a lasting foundation for peace. An enduring resolution to conflict, including the ones we see in the Middle East or between Russia and Ukraine, must be rooted in dialogue, diplomacy and mutual respect — approached with the understanding that, at the deepest level, we are all brothers and sisters. My comment related specifically to a commitment on house-building. I stand by my description of Starmer as being a ‘principled politician’. He does not deserve the unfounded and unfair criticism to which he is being subjected. But that’s the nature of confrontational politics.

British political parties should be financed by fivers and tenners from British voters. Not by £9m bungs from Thailand-based crypto bros.

Just to clarify, since some don’t seem to understand: 1) This death sentence will be delivered by military courts, there’s no jury, no representation 2) These military courts try Palestinian children 3) A child who throws a stone can be deemed a “terrorist” and now put to death.

Still irritated by THAT documentary. What got up my nose was interviewing a food bank worker who said things were getting worse. When Trussell Trust say that nationally there’s been an 8% decline in use of food banks. It’s not right to tilt a narrative.

Genuine question. How can the EU not fully cut off Israel and sanction them now? They've brought in a law that is without precedent and is indefensible. A cruel, barbaric racist law to murder one ethnic group. Surely this IS the red line?

Bucha has come to symbolise the cruelty of Russia’s war. Of the civilians killed, many were shot at close range. Some with their hands tied behind their backs. Four years after these mass killings, we remember the victims. What happened here cannot be denied. The EU is committed to ensuring that these crimes do not go unpunished, including by supporting the Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression, alongside the Claims Commission. Russia must be held accountable for what it has done to Ukraine.

Media have “jumped the shark” reporting so unhinged and biased, people now feel protective to Starmer, to democracy and to challenge them on the facts. RW media have achieved opposite in their desperation to oust an extremely diligent and effective PM. Good. @SkyNews @GMB
