Here’s what they do instead: They host a webinar panel for residents and fellows called “pros and cons of private equity ownership” featuring a dude who made 7 million from a PE sale. There are no pros. None at all. Don’t present PE to residents as a viable practice model on par with physician owned practices. Stop it. Don’t give it a platform.

Every professional organization in medicine should denounce the involvement of private equity in healthcare. They should send a clear message to their young physician members that PE is bad for hospitals, private practices, and patients. They won’t do it, but they should.
