Operation Never Say Die involves 11 defendants who engaged in fraud totaling more than $50 million. Our system has a very difficult time prosecuting any type of fraud, not only taxpayer fraud. Many citizens have been defrauded in business and often nothing is done about it. The government is really only capable of prosecuting misdemeanor crimes well, but when it comes to more serious crimes they are generally incompetent.
