We actually went pragmatic rather than building a new memory backend from scratch. For durable agent memory we used a deterministic local-file approach via .brv/context-tree/ (human-readable, project-scoped), and alongside that we added qmd for indexed retrieval over raw local docs/code with BM25 + vector/hybrid search. So basically: • curated memory → local files • raw corpus retrieval → indexed search That split felt cleaner than forcing everything through one system.
