@aditya_A17 @joshm We're working on it! Can't commit to a timeline yet.
English

@joshm I'm just waiting to get Dia on windows, when's it coming?
English

I think @adamstern_, @dustin, and I just cracked the core tab organization model & interactions for @diabrowser.
Bet only 50% will work in end, but feels so close. Having a lot fun.
Still need to make Chat (and AI broadly) feel more integrated /useful / distinct tho. Next!
English

@olliemcmillan @joshm Ah thanks for flagging! How do you open the new profile? Via the profile picker near the macOS traffic lights?
English

Heya @joshm, there’s this thing that happens when you have Dia in full screen and chose to open another profile, it opens the new Dia window infront of the current one (rather than opening it in a new full screen area). It’s been an issue for quite some time, would be great if it gets fixed in the next release. Thanks.

I was walking to the office in New York this morning and noticed an arrestingly beautiful high-rise above me. Turns out it was the Woolworth building, which I'm a bit embarrassed to say I'd never noticed or heard of before.
It was the tallest building in the world for 16 years (until 1929). Construction took 20 months. The architect was apparently inspired by European cathedrals; one clergyman called it "the cathedral of commerce". It contained its own power plant. It's adorned with the full Gothic package: gargoyles, spandrels, mullions, pilasters, corbels. It contained the world's fastest elevators when it opened.
The world is a museum of passion projects.

@jasdev Can't imagine this place without you, J. Congrats! 💙🎉🏄♂️

The @browsercompany just signed a merger agreement to be acquired. We will remain independent. Our focus is Dia.
I’ve written and rewritten this post more times than I’d like to admit, but what I keep coming back to is simple: the work continues, and we’re grateful for this moment.
The work continues because when I stop by the coffee shop near our office, nobody is using Dia yet. Our “internet computer” vision hasn’t been realized. Dia hasn’t yet changed how you work on a Tuesday morning. This deal is about giving us the resources, distribution, and monetization muscle to get there.
At the same time, it feels disingenuous not to pause and briefly celebrate this milestone. It reflects our team’s craftsmanship and relentlessness, the support of our coaches, board members, and advisors, and the incredible effort from our deal team: Ryan Purcell from Gunderson, Nancy Peretsman and Leah Schwartz from Allen & Co., and Clare, Abby, Eissra, Rebecca, Cory, Nash, and Hursh from The Browser Company.
Most of all, we’re grateful for what this means for Dia. It means we can hire faster, ship faster, and bring Dia to more people. We can now invest in cross-platform support and secure syncing, train custom AI models designed specifically for Dia, and turn ambitious ideas about “computer use” and “memory” into reality.
To everyone who’s filed a bug, sent feedback, or shared a kind word: thank you. We haven’t always gotten it right, but we’ve always cared deeply. That will never change.
Dia isn’t going anywhere. We’ll be here for the long haul, with the same team just a new partner helping us push further. We’ll take a breath this weekend, and then get back to work. Big launch next month.
In the meantime...

(this is total speculation on my part bc Dia was made after my time at browser but I assume the culture there is still the same)
what made Arc’s onboarding great was: we tried signing up for the product every single day, several times a day.
every monday morning, the team would get on a call together, one of us would screenshare trying to sign up and the rest of us would write down what was wrong. for a good couple of months, this was excruciating and embarrassing. most of it was broken, a lot of lofty ideas we had for special details or clever animations felt awkward or silly. it felt pointless to do as a group because so little of the prod experience matched what we had in our heads, I think most of us wanted to go back to the drawing board and think of a better flow in our heads. but we filed dozens of tickets for ourselves, and then got back to work. all week eng and design would be running through the entire flow over and over again as they fixed those issues. rinse and repeat, for I don’t remember, maybe twenty weeks. until the real thing was as good as what we had in our heads.
that’s it, that’s the secret. you have to actually use your product, more than your users ever will, and then fix everything that feels bad instead of letting it slide.

The lovely "Just Piano" album by @Fkjmusic was released 4 years ago today.
I've listened to it ~every day since.
"Last Hour" has been my most-listened to track each year since release.
Do yourself a favor & give it a listen!

@NicolaeRusan @diabrowser @joshm We hear you!
It's not discoverable, but hold down `option` when selecting a result & that'll open the result in a split view.
English

@diabrowser @joshm - attempting the full switch to Dia! Wanted to let y'all know I'm really missing the ability to split view when doing CMD + L - not sure if others are feeling this too

The one & only @tfeener is now Head of Engineering at @browsercompany 💖
Tara has spent her career building creative tools — from Adobe to Paper by FiftyThree — and we see Dia Skills as a new creative format for software.
Couldn’t imagine a better leader (or human) than Tara!
English

@Pavel_Asparagus Yep, same here (~50 at Pinterest). Wouldn't recommend to others unless very high upside!
